British and English Summer Nationals

3rd August 2019

The season ends for all clubs across the country with the British and National Summer Championships (English, Scottish and Welsh).

Elle, in her first British Championships in Glasgow swam well in the 50m Breaststroke to finish 14th overall. She then went on to the English Championships in Sheffield to compete in the 100m breaststroke where she set a personal best to make the final and then improved it again to grab a superb silver in a time that would have been 8th in the final in the British Championships.

Dan was also at Sheffield in his specialist event, 50m backstroke. In the heat Dan was just one hundredth off his best to make the final where he went on to finish 6th (same position as last year but in a faster time).

Huge congratulations to both Elle and Dan from all at the club.

Wycombe End of Season Meet

20th July 2019

Whilst we may have had a small group of 21 swimmers competing at Wycombe across everything from 50m up to the gruelling 400m IM the team spirit and encouragement was excellent, with several swimmers tackling events at long course for the first time. This atmosphere and the positive attitude led to a very successful weekend performance-wise with 66 personal bests. There were lots of medals too, 46 in total (10 golds, 8 silver and 28 bronze).

Many thanks to Mark, Ellen and Deryn for supporting the team.

All the results are on the results page.

With a number of swimmers unavailable some swimmers found themselves competing in 7 or even 8 events (hats off to Louis on that one!). We came 5th on the night behind a strong Wycombe team.

Many thanks to Ellen, Chris, Heather, Elise, Emily and Max for managing the team poolside. Results are on the results page.

Tom Williams Trophy Gala

30th June 2019

There is nothing better than a swimming gala on the hottest day of the year, thankfully the gala was fun and the racing exciting. There were some different events which were interesting including a 4 x 25m medley relay with one swimmer from each age group. There was also a joker round which scored double points - we put ours on Oli Kenton and he didn't let us down!

On the night our small team did really well to finish 4th with the 2nd, 3rd and 4th teams only a few points different and trading places throughout the night. Well done to Crusaders on their victory.

Special mention to our two young superstars Chenai and James who were our only 10 and under swimmers (age @ end of year) and competed in 3 individuals and 3 relays each. I am sure they slept well!

Thanks to Mark, Ellen and Vicki for their help poolside and to Jo and Bernie for officiating - with Bernie refereeing for the first time!

Full results will be published shortly.

SE Regionals 2019 - Day 6

25th May 2019

The final day of the SE Regionals for Aylesbury was all about Millie in the 50m backstroke, and she didn't disappoint. With the second fastest time by an Aylesbury swimmer ever she booked a place in the final where she went on to finish an impressive 6th. Her time also puts her in with a shout of English Nationals.

So that's it for the 2019 Regionals. Well done to all our swimmers who competed in what is one of the toughest regions in the country with some age groups boasting over 700 swimmers. Puts a top 30 finish into perpective!

LB Open Meet

14th May 2019

Well done to all our swimmers who competed at the weekend in the LB Open Meet at Bletchley. Overall we won 45 medals (22 gold, 12 silver and 11 bronze) and set 49 personal bests. We even had 11 swims where swimmers gained a speeding ticket for going faster than the entry time.

Many thanks to Heather, Kerry, Elise and Ilana for their help poolside in supporting the team and many thanks too to all swimmers who behaved impeccably throughout the day.

The results are now on the results page.

12th May 2019

In her first Regionals, Amber was up next in the 50m Breaststroke and stormed to a 1 second improvement on the time she set two weeks ago, dipping under 40 seconds to finish 18th. A very mature performance and great swiim.

So one more day to go - with Millie going in the 50 backstroke at the end of the month

SE Regionals Day 4

11th May 2019

It was the turn of our juniors at the SE Regionals in Crawley. Oli kicked off with more than a second off his best time to finish 30th in the 50 back. Millie set one of the fastest 50 fc times by any Aylesbury swimmer to finish 20th. She then went on to set a superb time and another personal best in the 100 backstroke to finish 14th.

Tomorrow is an Amber day!

SE Regionals 2019 - Day 3

6th May 2019

In the final day of the championships we had a large contingent poolside flying the ADSC flag. In the 200 freestyle Charlotte grabbed a PB to finish 15th. In the 200 IM both Libby and Charlotte were on PBs to finish as reserves for the final in 12th and 11th respectively.

In the 50 backstroke, Josh set a PB to finish 14th, Joe was just off his best to finish 13th and Dan set a decent time in his heat to make the final where he set the same time again to place 8th.

Next week it is the time of our junior swimmers, Millie, Ollie and Amber and we move to Crawley.

SE Regionals 2019 - Day 2

5th May 2019

Day 2 of the Regionals in Wycombe was all about our girls in the 200m breaststroke. With all four of our qualifiers adept in the short course version of the event, where their quality turns really help, the long course version is a completely different experience.

Jessica kicked off proceedings with a personal best to finish 19th. Izzy also set a personal best to finish 13th. Libby and Charlotte both had strong swims to finish just outside their best times in 13th and 15th respectively.

Final day tomorrow.

SE Regionals 2019 - Day 1

4th May 2019

We kicked off our Regional campaign today with the boys 100 backstroke. Joe had a solid swim to come 22nd and Dan swam a PB to finish in 9th and first reserve for the final.
